Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments. Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives. A Subject Matter Expert is an individual whose qualifications and/or expertise are exceptional and/or highly unique. Has domain and expert technical knowledge. Performs the following kinds of functions: Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project’s inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs; Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff; Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues; Consults with client to define need or problem supervises studies and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions. Decision making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation.
Be part of an agile team that is responsible for maintaining an enterprise data search, analysis and visualization tool that accelerates the investigative process by providing agents and analysts access to a diverse range of datasets collected from their customer Agency, OGA and private sector.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop ETL mappings to extract data from a source data system (databases, files, etc.), transform the data based on business requirements and load the data into a target data system (databases, files, etc.).
Conduct performance tuning of the mappings developed to ensure that the data is extracted, transformed, and loaded in a reasonable amount of time based on the requirements.
Develop Business Intelligence (BI) reports using BI software and perform unit testing of the reports developed.
Work on multiple phases of the Development Life Cycle (requirements, design, development, testing and deployment) of BI Dashboard and reports.
Develop required documentation in support of the development life cycle.
May supervise others.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems
Management, other related discipline, or equivalent experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
12-15 years of prior relevant experience or master’s with 10-13 years of prior relevant experience.
Ability to work well within a small agile team environment
Strong communication skills
US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with Power BI, data analysis, data query, data aggregation, data visualization, software development, system architecture, data transformation, data management, and big data technology.
Capable of utilizing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes.
Experienced in writing complex statements, scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and views implement business intelligence and data warehousing solutions.
Solid foundation in, and application of, data warehousing and reporting platform concepts with ability to recommend solutions and drive best practices.
Familiarity with multiple business intelligence environments is preferred.
Experience with Vue.js, ASP.NET (C#), NodejsReact, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PostgreSQL, Liquibase, Elasticsearch, and Git.
DOD Top Secret Clearance is required.
