A Brief Overview:
As the Manager of Rehabilitation Services, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing the quality of our rehabilitation programs. You will lead a team of dedicated therapists and support staff to ensure the highest level of patient care and satisfaction. This position supports Inpatient Rehab Services (PT, OT & ST) at Edward hospital with 70 direct reports (inclusive of Full-Time, Part-Time and Per Diem roles). Your responsibilities will include program development, staff management, budget oversight, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals to achieve the hospital's rehabilitation goals.
What you will do:
Providing effective leadership and direction to the rehabilitation services team, fostering a collaborative and patient-centered culture.
Developing and implementing rehabilitation programs and initiatives to meet the needs of patients, physicians, and the community.
Recruiting, training, and supervising rehabilitation therapists and support staff, ensuring a high standard of care and compliance with regulations.
Monitoring and maintaining the quality of rehabilitation services through ongoing assessment, performance evaluations, and implementing best practices.
Overseeing the department's budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost-effective operations.
Collaborating with healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, ensuring optimal outcomes.
Staying up to date with state and federal regulations, accreditation requirements, and industry trends to maintain compliance and enhance services.
Educating patients and their families on rehabilitation programs, treatment options, and progress expectations.
Ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans.
Identifying opportunities for process improvement and participate in hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives.
Serving as an advocate for patients' needs and concerns within the hospital and the community.
Preparing and presenting reports on departmental performance and outcomes to hospital leadership.
What you will need:
Bachelors Degree Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Therapy Required
Masters Degree, preferred
5+ Years of clinical experience in rehabilitation services required; 3 Years experience in multi-disciplinary Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation setting.
Physical Therapy/Aide Technician Certification (PTTC) - American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
Current licensure to practice Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Therapy in the state of Illinois.
Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) or Certified Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) - American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Required
CPR (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
