Job Description and Responsibilities

In this role the successful candidate will design strategies to enhance EVRAZ’s overall financial health. This will be done by formulating a finance strategy for the profitable long-term growth of the business through the maximization of returns on financial assets and seeking opportunities to reduce costs and increase capital. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

  • Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure for the Canadian Operations
  • Coordinate, analyze and report the financial performance to Management and Board of Directors (financial performance, projections and other special projects as required)
  • Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties
  • Collaborate with audit and tax functions on activities to review overall financial performance of the Company
  • Develop, implement and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting
  • Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent IFRS, GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
  • Selects, coaches and develops high performing teams in all areas of customer billing, cash applications and collections. Establishes measurable goals and performs continual measurement, coaching and counseling to team members
  • Remain current on operational trends, technological developments and regulatory changes
  • Hires, trains, develops, monitors, and evaluates performance of staff.  Reviews and recommends personnel actions for approval

Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree in accounting, finance or economics, MBA, preferred
  • 10+ years of related experience in a corporate environment; industrial manufacturing, preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), preferred
  • Minimum 5 years prior management experience with a proven ability to lead teams and effectively work through others, required
  • Strong analytical, financial and systems skills, required
  • Experience working in global business environment, preferred
  • Experience supporting acquisitions and joint ventures
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills are mandatory
  • Passion for getting things done and an appreciation for details
  • Motivated self-starter who can effectively work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
