Job Description

The Role: EVP, Head of Corporate Development & Strategy

The EVP, Head of Corporate Development & Strategy will play a pivotal role in driving our strategic direction and growth. You will be responsible for leading the Corporate Development function, which includes board management, M&A, investments, finding organic growth opportunities and a. This role reports into the Chief Financial Officer with a dotted line to our President & Chairman of A+E Networks and will sit on our Executive Team.

Responsibilities

  • Board Management: Develop materials and financial projections to communicate our business performance and plan to external stakeholders.
  • M&A and Investments: Lead M&A and investments from end-to-end from strategy, sourcing, due diligence, execution and integration based on our business strategy and product vision.
  • Strategic Projects: Work cross functionally with the executive team to help shape corporate strategy and lead special projects.
  • Driving our Growth: Lead organic growth initiatives through new business launches, look for opportunities internally to consult and provide resources to other divisions, amplifying our innovation.
  • People and Thought Leadership: Manage and lead a small but mighty Corporate Development team. Provide leadership to company by embodying our values. Show creativity, innovation, and a dedication to our strategy by including principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the division’s work and purpose.  

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience leading and managing transactions in house.
  • Has substantial experience and skills in strategic and financial analysis, complex deal structuring, project management, negotiations, and communication.
  • Has launched a new business initiative in the media space (DTC Media, Studio Operations, Digital Publishers, etc.)
  • Can tell a story through data and variety of formats (verbal, written, presentations, etc.) and flex to a variety of audiences, both internal and external.
  • Has experience working across multiple regions (e.g., Americas, EMEA, APAC) and diverse industries
  • Is collaborative and brings an inclusive approach to leadership and problem solving.
  • Has experience managing and leading a team.
  • Brings a proven track record of creativity and influencing change.
  • Thrives in ambiguity.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 10 years working in corporate development, investment banking, private equity or consulting
  • At least 10 years of transactional experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience with linear television
  • At least 5 years of people management experience
  • Able to travel to Stamford, CT or NYC as needed (often on short notice)

Compensation

Annual Pay Range: $422,593 - $507,111

Annual Incentive Target: 40.00%


 

The annual/hourly pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the

minimum and maximum base pay range for this role. Compensation for the role will

be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills,
