Job Description Summary:
This position assists in the daily and ongoing operation, including oversight of processes related to smooth flow of patients and most efficient use of high-tech ultrasound resources; implement a continuous quality control/improvement program to enhance utilization of these resources; establish an ongoing orientation, training, and continuing education program for Ultrasonographers; and assists in management of inventory control. Independently performs requested ultrasound examinations searching for any possible pathology as indicated by the patients' symptoms, medical history and/or results from previous testing. Reviews and discusses the ultrasound findings with the Radiologists.Responsibilities And Duties:
60% to 80% Perform duties of Ultrasonographers as needed:Minimum Qualifications:
High School or GED (Required)ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, RDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical SonographyAdditional Job Description:
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasonography program; current American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or equivalent Certification.
Must have passed the physics and at least one other specialty of the ARDMS or equivalent registry.
Should have competent computer skills with a good understanding of the Electronic Medical Record Systems and other pertinent applications, and intradepartmental processes.
BLS certified.
At least two years of previous Ultrasound Experience.
