What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Defense and Security Segment, where they will lead a workstream focused on instructional design, delivery and evaluation of emergency communications training within the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The Consultant will provide input on short-to-mid-term goals and serve as a member of a team focused on the analysis, design and implementation of learning programs. 

The Consultant must have the following experience:

  • Leading a team of 2-4 consultants, establishing project goals, timelines, and metrics, and interacting with senior client leaders

  • Leading training needs assessments, facilitating listening sessions, and synthesizing results

  • Leading instructional design and delivery of virtual and in-person instructor-led training, interactive eLearning/asynchronous courses, and scenario-based workshops, and developing accompanying training materials, facilitator guides, and learner assessments

  • Leading evaluation of training using industry standard approaches such as the Kirkpatrick training evaluation method

  • Contributing to course monitoring, evaluation, and refresh efforts

  • Contributing to the development of reports and presentations summarizing the outputs of quantitative and qualitative assessments and analyses

  • Planning for and directing team members to prepare for internal and external stakeholder discussions

  • Executing project tasks/outputs under the direction of a Project Manager

  • Leading the development comprehensive plans to implement program goals, meet requirements, and keep resources on track


What You Will Need:

  • Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • FIVE (5) or more years of relevant experience in Instructional Design

  • Experience using course authoring tools


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications

  • Experience consulting for the federal government

  • Experience working in DHS, FEMA, or the emergency management field

  • Understanding of federal management training policies and processes

  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of business, both written and verbal

  • Ability to adapt quickly and develop successful professional relationships

  • Experience providing 508 compliance
