About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of agreements, including but not limited to, clinical trial agreements, licensing agreements, marketing agreements, market access agreements, quality agreements and supply agreements, as well as assisting with the management of the company’s intellectual property. Additionally, you will provide legal support and guidance on various matters.

You should have excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. You should be able to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals. You should also be proactive, detail-oriented, and ethical. 

Let’s talk about some of the key responsibilities of the role:

  • Draft, negotiate, and review a wide range of contracts and agreements with internal business partners from a variety of business units.
  • Work closely with other departments such as Clinical, Operations, IT, Marketing, Market Access, and Medical Affairs to address legal issues and support company objectives.
  • Assist with Intellectual Property, including portfolio management, regulatory exclusivity, competitive intelligence and strategy, CURES compliance, and licensing. 
  • Perform legal research, including interpretation of laws and regulations as relevant to the business.
  • Assist with SEC filings as required

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited university
  • License to practice law in the U.S., and preferably in California
  • At least 8-10 years of experience as in-house counsel, with at least 3-5 years as in-house counsel in the healthcare or life sciences industry
  • Patent background preferred, but not required
  • Science degree/background preferred, but not required

  • The position will be based in our beautiful Irvine office, complete with a courtyard, snacks, drinks, and occasional catered meals. We provide a hybrid work environment. Remote work is an option.

The expected base pay range for this position is $191,200 - $267,800 plus bonus, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits. The base pay range reflects the target range for this position, but individual pay will be determined by additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
