We are seeking a Supply Chain manager, internally known as Site Supply Chain Lead, to manage the day-to-day planning and buying operations at our Tewkesbury site. This is a critical leadership role with responsibility for material flow, demand and supply plan integrity, inventory performance, and on-time delivery to internal and external customers. Reporting to the Materials Manager, you will lead an integrated team of approximately 12 planners and planner/buyers, driving execution discipline, supplier performance, and robust ERP/MRP governance. This role is pivotal to protecting delivery performance and controlling material risk within a complex aerospace manufacturing environment.

Planning & Materials Performance

  • Lead daily demand and supply planning activities to ensure consistent material availability
  • Drive adherence to planning best practice across expediting, PO management and supplier communication
  • Maintain inventory accuracy, buffer performance, and stable planning parameters
  • Proactively identify material risks and escalate through tiered management processes
  • Ensure supplier schedule adherence and delivery performance

Team Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of planning and procurement professionals
  • Set clear priorities, allocate workload effectively and manage performance
  • Embed standard work, process discipline, and cross-functional communication

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as the key interface between Planning, Operations, Engineering, Quality and Programme teams
  • Provide clear visibility of material status, supplier risk and recovery plans
  • Represent Supply Chain in leadership reviews, audits and customer interactions as required

Process Discipline & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with contractual flow-downs, regulatory requirements and company processes
  • Maintain strong ERP/MRP system discipline and data integrity
  • Govern scheduling logic, planning parameters and inventory controls to maintain operational stability

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive improvements in forecast accuracy, plan adherence and supplier performance
  • Optimise MOQs, lead times and planning efficiency
  • Support initiatives that improve material flow, reduce waste and strengthen delivery reliability

Essential Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years’ experience in supply chain, planning or materials management
  • Proven leadership experience managing planning and/or procurement teams
  • Strong ERP/MRP system knowledge and materials management expertise
  • Working understanding of SIOP and capacity planning
  • Confident in supplier communication, negotiation and contract interpretation
  • CIPS qualification desirable but not essential
  • Structured, resilient and able to manage competing operational priorities
