We are seeking a strategic, commercially driven professional with a solid understanding of carbon markets to design, lead and implement our commercialization strategy of carbon credits generated under various standards and mechanisms (VCS, Gold Standard, Cercarbono, Article 6.2, PACM, CORSIA, among others). The successful candidate will be responsible for building long-term relationships with international corporate buyers and market agents, structuring both spot and forward sales agreements, and positioning our credits effectively in both voluntary and compliance markets.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the go-to-market and commercial strategy for the sale of ACCIONA´s carbon credits.

    Identify market trends, buyer demand, pricing dynamics, and opportunities for value creation.

    Build relationships with institutional buyers, brokers, platforms, climate funds, net-zero corporations, and government entities.

    Design tailored sales structures depending on the credit type (ex-ante, ex-post, ITMOs) and target market (voluntary or compliance).

    Negotiate and close sales agreements (ERPAs, MOUs, LOIs, etc.), ensuring environmental integrity and regulatory compliance.

    Coordinate with internal teams (project development, finance, legal) to validate and support commercial readiness of credits.

    Oversee issuance and retirement processes of credits in carbon registries (Verra, Gold Standard, PACM, etc.).

    Stay up to date on market pricing trends, buyer requirements, regulatory frameworks (EU ETS, CORSIA, CBAM, Article 6), and reputational considerations.

    Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings globally.

Requisitos del candidato

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Business, Environmental Engineering, International Law, Sustainability, Climate Finance, or related fields.

  • 3-5+ years of experience in commercial roles within carbon markets.

  • Familiarity with carbon certification standards (VCS, GS4GG, Puro.earth, etc.) , with international mechanisms (Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, ITMOs, CORSIA) and compliance markets.

  • Understanding of credit quality, co-benefits, additionality, and claims integrity.

  • Proven B2B negotiation and business development skills.

  • Ability to understand and manage ERPA contracts and carbon-related legal frameworks.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and in Spanish (C1+). Additional languages are a plus.

  • Availability to travel abroad frequently (usually, for a week in a row or more) for conferences, client, verifier, or stakeholder meetings.
