About you and this role

Dow has a challenging and exciting role for an Account Manager within Dow Services Business (DSB) this position can be located in Freeport, TX, Houston, TX, Hahnville, LA or Plaquemine, LA. This position will have responsibility for leading the overall relationship with our service providers and customers.

This role provides a unique opportunity to advance account relationships and services growth in line with Dow’s continuing transformation. The Account Manager is fully accountable for representing Dow to the service provider and customer. The Account Manager also represents the account with Dow leadership and product businesses.

The DSB manages the contracts, across all Dow sites, for services provided by Dow to Industry Park (I-Park) site tenants and fence line partners as well as services provided by I-Park site tenants back to Dow.  This role will be responsible for specific accounts located on Dow sites in the US (United States) Gulf Coast. Other customer accounts may be added to this role in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain e a deep understanding of the customer’s business to enable increased opportunity and value for DSB and Dow
  • Own development, management, and appropriate communication of account strategy
  • Build strong relationships throughout the customer’s organization particularly at leadership levels and with key decision makers and influencers
  • Partner with customer to identify strategic and tactical business opportunities
  • Responsible for business growth, customer satisfaction and retention
  • Engage with the Commercial Management role to strategize offerings and deals in the best interest of Dow and the customer 
  • Develop and maintain quality account strategies and plans; providing leadership and management of implementation
  • Collaborate with and maintain alignment to Dow functions, sites, and businesses.

Oversight of Customer Account Team:

  • Accountable for overall customer contracts.
  • Coach, lead, and influence team members in support of the customer, and execution of overall account strategy.
  • Maintain awareness of contracts, amendments and addendums and manage the engagement of contract discussions and agreements.
  • Own and maintain accountability for the customer forecast and financial results.
  • Drive the customer opportunity identification and development process to ensure an appropriate opportunity pipeline exists and is progressing.
  • Track, manage, and communicate service performance internally and with the customer.
  • Negotiate Dow business growth or optimization projects with service provider.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree or a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience or relevant military experience at an E6 rank/Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Prior experience in engineering and manufacturing.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S (United States). based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity / experience with the structure, language, and/or administration of contracts.
  • Familiarity / experience with services provided at manufacturing facilities such as operations, site logistics, maintenance, waste treatment, utilities, infrastructure and emergency services.
  • Expertise in senior executive relationship building, consultation, services sales.
  • Account management, organizational management, project management.
  • Business Acumen and the ability to set account strategy based on knowledge of the company and the customer’s strategic and tactical vision.
  • Leadership and coaching skills.
  • Communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in challenging or intense situations.
  • Customer focused mindset on the outside / DSB on the inside.
  • Ability to listen and ask probing questions in order to enable opportunity development.
  • Ability to articulate and differentiate appropriate offerings and value propositions that combine technical aptitude with commercial ability.
  • Ability to translate opportunities to a concrete strategy in line with Dow’s transformation, obtain Dow internal stakeholder approval, and successfully negotiate a win win with the customer.
