Accenture Quality Engineering

As enterprises look to software as a source of competitive advantage, they demand quality—at speed and scale. They must rethink how they build and test applications, moving away from testing as a standalone function at far end of the development cycle to embedding quality throughout. Our Quality Engineering services are designed to power speed, quality and productivity with an intelligence and insights-driven approach.

The role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Engineering Senior Manager to lead in quality engineering delivery. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of software quality across our portfolio of programmes and projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising our clients on quality assurance strategies, approaches and leading practice, managing the software testing processes, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of quality within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the quality engineering function, providing guidance, mentorship and support to ensure the team's success.
  • Advising our clients on quality assurance, shaping their test strategies, guiding them on leading practice
  • Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive quality engineering strategies, approaches and processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.
  • Manage resource allocation, budgeting, and capacity planning for the quality engineering team.
  • Collaborate with programme and project management, business owners, development teams, and operations to ensure alignment on quality goals and objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing efficiency, effectiveness, and coverage.
  • Oversee the planning, approaches, execution, and reporting of software testing activities across programmes and projects.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and leading practices in software testing and quality assurance.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the quality engineering function.
  • Client Stakeholder Management and Test Reporting
  • Perform sales and solution support in quality engineering opportunities including solution planning, timeline, estimate and team structure

Required skills:

  • Expert level knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools and leading practice
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate findings and status to a non-technical audience
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Azure DevOps, Selenium, JUnit or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications & experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • ISTQB Certification or similar accreditation
  • 10+ years experience in the area of software delivery or quality engineering.
  • Proven experience in a senior quality engineering or quality assurance role, with a track record of successfully leading and managing teams.
  • Experience with waterfall and agile development methodologies.
  • Ability to build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Previous experience working within the Utilities/Electricity sector would be beneficial.
