Job Summary

As Senior Director, Enabling Functions, you will help drive the systems, processes, and governance that support innovation across IT and customer-facing software, empowering teams to deliver solutions that enhance the experience of people living with diabetes. Position Overview: Sr. Director Enabling Functions
 

This position will be primarily responsible for the operating mechanisms of the program management office including leading the output of cross functional scrum teams through scrum managers leading development teams across product development, information technology, and customer-facing software. The position will be directly involved in ensuring the teams delivery at the planned volume and the program management office mechanisms including resource management, program tracking, risk escalation, and portfolio health and progression are managed at a high level of transparency and effectiveness.   This role will also have responsibility for the pmo delivery for our enabling functions including IT and Customer Facing Software (DSCX) with direction over leaders in this area.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead PMO operating mechanisms and governance processes.
  • Oversee cross-functional Scrum teams through Scrum Managers.
  • Drive delivery across product, IT, and customer software programs.
  • Ensure teams meet planned delivery commitments and milestones.
  • Manage resource capacity, allocation, and forecasting.
  • Provide portfolio-level status tracking and performance reporting.
  • Escalate and manage program risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Monitor and improve portfolio health and execution progress.
  • Foster transparency, accountability, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Continuously enhance PMO processes, tools, and operating rhythms.
     

Education and Experience:
Bachelor in a relevant technical field such as Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar field; experience in agile (SAFe preferred) software development including Scrum and Kanban; 10+ years program management operations and people leadership.
 

Preferred Requirements:

Masters in a relevant field such as Engineering Management, Business Administration,  Computer Science or similar field; 15+ years program management operations and people leadership.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Enterprise Program and Portfolio Management expertise with the ability to align execution to business strategy.
  • Deep knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and scaled delivery frameworks across multiple teams.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills, including managing Scrum Managers and matrixed organizations.
  • Resource planning, capacity management, and portfolio prioritization experience.
  • Proven ability to establish and operate governance, portfolio reviews, and executive reporting mechanisms.
  • Expertise in risk identification, dependency management, and escalation practices.
  • Data-driven decision making using program, portfolio, and resource metrics.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategic objectives and operational execution.
  • Experience driving organizational change, process improvement, and PMO operational excellence initiatives.
  • Proficiency with portfolio and delivery management tools such as Clarity PPM, Jira, Smartsheet, Power BI, and related reporting platforms.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly regulated environment, ideally medical devices, healthcare technology, or similar industries.

• Travel at least 25%

Additional Information:

Compensation & Benefits: For U.S.-based positions only, the annual base salary range for this role is $248,500.00 - $372,700.00 This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
