The House Supervisor is responsible for administrative supervision of nursing services on the assigned shift. Supervises and coordinates activities of nursing personnel to maintain continuity of patient care. Our hospital provides a high level of clinical care through a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach. As House Supervisor, you’ll coordinate patient care, staffing, and workflow across units during the night shift. You’ll support team members, assist with direct patient care, and serve as a leadership presence during emergencies.
📝 Position Highlights at a Glance
- Lead nightly operations across hospital units
- Monitor census and acuity to ensure safe staffing levels
- Manage attendance and shift coverage
- Mentor, onboard, and develop staff, including agency personnel
- Contribute to audits, incident reports, and quality improvement projects
- Provide bedside support as needed for high-flow moments
- Participate in performance assessments and disciplinary actions
- Uphold safety standards and respond to critical incidents
- Collaborate with Nurse Manager/DNO to enhance morale and workflow
✔️ What You’ll Need
- RN License (State of NM)
- CPR required | ACLS & CRRN preferred
- 1+ year of RN supervisory experience in a charge nurse role or alike
- BSN preferred
- Acute or rehabilitation hospital experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of infection prevention, clinical procedures, and accreditation standards
- Excellent leadership, organization, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting team success

Physical Requirements over the course of a shift
- A significant amount of standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling, often for prolonged periods of time
- Both gross and precise motor functions
- Lifting/exerting of up to 50 lbs
- Possible exposure to bodily fluids
- Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation of care
- Acute hearing required for accurate patient assessment
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard
- Ability to hear overhead pages
