Job Description:

  • Role title: Patient Administration Officer 

  • Role type: Maximum Term, full time (until the end of April 2027)

  • Role grade: Administration Officer, Level 3. Year 1/2

  • Department and location: Medical Imaging, St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst

  • Salary: $71,072.43- $73,287.41+ super + salary packaging

About the role

  • Be the welcoming first point of contact for patients, referrers and visitors, delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive experience at every interaction.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment by coordinating patient registrations, managing competing priorities and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the department.

  • Build strong relationships with clinicians, referrers and multidisciplinary teams, using your excellent communication skills to provide outstanding administrative support.

  • Ensure accurate patient records, documentation and Medicare billing processes are completed with a high level of attention to detail while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.

  • Play an active role in driving excellence by embracing new technologies, contributing to continuous process improvements and supporting a collaborative, high-performing team.

  • You're an excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills, enabling you to build positive relationships with patients, colleagues and stakeholders.

  • You thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities while delivering exceptional customer service and working collaboratively within a team.

  • You're highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and follow processes accurately.

  • You take pride in maintaining confidentiality, demonstrate a strong sense of accountability and consistently exercise sound judgement in your work.

  • You're confident using a range of computer systems, adapt quickly to new technologies and embrace change with a positive, flexible approach

In this role you will be based at St Vincent’s hospital, Darlinghurst.
