The Opportunity

This position works out of our Maple Grove, Minnesota or Temecula, California locations

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Associate Business Systems Consultant will be responsible for working closely with Abbott Medical Devices Supply Chain business partners and serve as the liaison between business partners and shared services delivery teams.  This role will ensure business needs and requirements are being addressed across the business and technology lifecycle (ideation, plan, build, and run).  In performing these activities, this role will be responsible for:

  • Demand management and program oversight

  • IT capital and expense financial projections and planning

  • Oversight of IT systems performance and improvement opportunities

  • Identifying technology solutions to meet evolving business needs with an excellent understanding of the application and technology lifecycle management.

Candidate should be aware of the evolution of technologies and consider regulations relevant to the global medical device environment.

BUSINESS ACUMEN

  • Deep understanding of business strategy and processes and ensure IT solutions meet the needs of the business.

  • Understand the specific challenges and opportunities linked to the regulatory, legal and economic situation across countries and business units.

CONSULTING

  • Consult senior leadership on IT systems lifecycle, tools and solutions. 

  • Recommend solutions assuring alignment with organization direction, vision and priorities. Where needed, involve business relationship managers and IT business consultants, as well as external expertise.

  • Develop, propose, and implement innovative solutions to improve business outcomes in support of business strategies.

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Partner and collaborate with key IT staff and other Abbott divisions to support cross divisional business initiatives and explore IT synergies and efficiencies.

PROJECT AND PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

  • Good understanding of project management process, best practices and documentation. Experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

PEOPLE SKILLS

  • Responsible for maintaining healthy relationships between the business stakeholders and the IT delivery teams.

  • Responsible for creating and ensuring a productive, collaborative, and accountable team environment.

COMPLIANCE

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures. Operate with broad goals and objectives. Has direct impact on capital budget, expenses and project completion.

DECISION MAKING

  • Make strategic decisions that impact Business and IT. Shared decision authority for IT budget and project activities. Manage initiatives that span multiple virtual teams across the world and different cultures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU WILL BRING

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field of study relevant for working in technology.

  • Preferred certificates - SAP certificates, Software validation / Life Cycle management (e.g., GAMP 5), IT Service Management certified (e.g., ITIL)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 7+ years international business experience (working for multi-national/Global) – 5 years in project management.

  • Strong experience in engaging with Supply Chain business environment and solid understanding of ERP and planning/forecasting solutions, supply chain tools, accounting/finance systems, manufacturing systems and reporting/analytics solutions.

  • Proven track record in IT-Business roles like functional application support, architecture, key user roles, project management, etc.

  • Experience with enterprise-level ERP systems (e.g., SAP).

  • Experience with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Advanced Planning tools (e.g., APO, IBP).

  • Experience with business process analysis, business capability and process mapping and business case creation.

  • Working experience in regulated environments like Healthcare / Pharma / MedTech, etc. Good overview of key processes in pharmaceutical industry.

  • IT compliance & governance experience.

  • Experience with GxP validation and large-scale IT implementations (e.g., SAP, ERP, CRM, QSM, PLM, etc.)

  • Working experience in the application life cycle domain: requirements definitions with business, applications selection, deployment, support, upgrade, interfacing, and decommissioning.

  • Understanding of business administration and finance.

  • Experience in developing and implementing applications in an FDA/GXP environment.

  • Technology Lifecycle Management, Product Lifecycle Management, and Document Management.

  • Experience leading teams - both with direct staff and indirect project teams including SAP, Supply Chain tools and analytics.

Preferred Experience:

  • Med Device/Healthcare/ Pharma background.

  • Proven track record in Supply Chain Organization which refers to Global Supply Chain group, Regional Supply Chain functions and Supply Chain groups in Manufacturing Sites and Distribution Centers.

  • Pharma/Medical Device commercial, development, and manufacturing business process knowledge, as related to IT.

  • Strong organizational skills including program/project governance.

  • Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, and networking skills

  • Strong influence management and negotiation skills.

The base pay for this position is

$72,700.00 – $145,300.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
