What You’ll Do:
We are seeking a Sr. Paralegal to fill a new role on our Last Mile Delivery legal team. The Last Mile Delivery legal team provides advice and counsel for business teams that facilitate the different delivery channels for delivery to a customer’s home. In this role, you will play a critical part in establishing and optimizing processes necessary to provide legal support to this fast-growing area of the business.

The Last Mile Delivery business is growing and evolving quickly, and the Sr. Paralegal may also be asked to engage in any of the following activities, depending on the need:
Provides support for specialized legal matters by managing end-to-end legal processes independently with little guidance, conducting specialized legal processes without assistance, developing and revising internal legal processes within area of specialization, receiving and reviewing requests for information, providing necessary information to leadership, collecting, entering, and maintaining legal information in various legal systems, managing legal files and logs, scheduling meetings and calls and coordinating with outside counsel, witnesses, and internal subject matter experts, providing status updates on legal processes and responding to questions about legal matters, identifying warnings signs for legal matters, assisting in the prioritization of various tasks within different legal processes, ensuring that attorneys are aware of pending deadlines, and assisting with budgeting and invoice review.
Builds and develops relationships with key stakeholders (for example, clients, outside counsel) without assistance by scheduling meetings with stakeholders, providing information to stakeholders, attending meetings and key events (for example, hearings, depositions, trials, interviews) in the legal process, taking and distributing meeting notes, working with counsel to conduct custodial interviews, working with counsel to draft legal documents (for example, action responses, prosecution documentation, basic agreements, initial arguments for objections, contractual language, and cease and desist orders) for responses to stakeholders on behalf of attorneys, interfacing with and providing guidance to stakeholders, and holding stakeholders accountable to legal processes and taking appropriate actions to remedy issues.
Conducts specialized legal research and analysis without assistance by identifying the needed information and determining relevant facts (for example, involved parties, statutes of limitations, judges' prior decisions in similar cases) to support legal matters, determining internal sources for document and information retrieval, researching and retrieving documentation and information; collecting and reviewing documents to determine suitability of information for production and document confidentiality, working with counsel to ensure legal documents comply with applicable laws and regulations, distributing document retention notices, providing a recommendation on how to respond to various legal matters, making assessments and categorizing information to provide insights to attorneys, understanding and applying Walmart Legal Tracker and e-Discovery processes, and assisting as knowledge management coordinator.
Demonstrates a specialized expertise, mastery of specialized legal processes, and autonomy by understanding the life cycle of specialized legal processes, understanding the scope and complexity of legal matters, demonstrating and maintaining knowledge of general and specific legal areas, understanding and interpreting complex requests from key stakeholders, demonstrating independent thought, identifying issues in legal processes and taking definitive action to resolve those issues without assistance, identifying and knowing when to bring the appropriate stakeholders into a matter, and identifying internal process issues and providing solutions.
Conducts training, facilitation, and mentoring for stakeholders (for example, clients, paralegals, attorneys) on complex legal processes by maintaining and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), best practices, and professional practices, developing and preparing for educational seminars on various legal processes and how to submit legal requests, scheduling and planning for events, delivering content to various audiences in various settings using a variety of mediums, and providing guidance and indirect supervision to stakeholders (for example, paralegals, legal analysts).
Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, identifying business needs, determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices, monitoring progress and results, recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities, and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans, using the Open Door Policy, and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.
Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices, supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs, and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.

The hourly wage range for this position is $33.00-$63.00*
*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
