The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Auxiliary & Business Services leads a portfolio of revenue-generating units including Dining Services Contract Administration, Campus Stores, Convocation & Events Center, and e-Commerce activities. The AVP is charged with providing vision, oversight, direction, and leadership for Auxiliary & Business Services, ensuring the effective management and efficient operation of these service operations in manners that best support and serve the university's varied constituents, its mission, and its strategic priorities while encouraging and supporting an entrepreneurial spirit to revenue generation. The AVP reports to the Executive Vice President for Finance & Administration and CFO.
Position is located on the main campus in Stephenville, Texas with in-office work hours of Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm or as work requirements indicate, which may include afterhours, evenings, weekends and some holidays.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads the overall strategic and operational activities for the Auxiliary & Business Services units.
Drives innovation and transformational change to support achievement of strategic
outcomes and revenue optimization.
Builds a strong working partnership with key university leaders to identify, encourage, and develop revenue-generating activities.
Develops and implements programs, policies, and initiatives which contribute to an exceptional student and customer experience.
Provides leadership in improving processes that enhance collaboration and service delivery.
Ensures the overall performance (financial, service, productivity) of the Auxiliary & Business Services units.
Promotes a culture of accountability and ownership, by establishing the vision, strategy
and departmental goals.
Optimizes contracts for the benefit of the university while creating strong partnerships.
Develops a communications and outreach strategy that builds confidence and cultivates strong relationships and collaboration across the university that in turns helps the
university community understand, embrace, and support new directions.
Creates a service culture that is responsive and rooted in customer service, operational
excellence, revenue optimization, goal-setting, and customer-outcomes focus.
Creates a positive work environment, empowering employees to use their full range of talents and abilities.
Collaborates with campus and external partners to develop robust e-Commerce platforms which support and encourage revenue-generating activities.
Enhances employee engagement and drives and supports the development of action plans to address issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A masters from an accredited institution.
Five (5) years of related experience in management and leadership positions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
Eight (8) years of relevant experience; previous experience and a successful track record in management and leadership
positions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated record of establishing effective working relationships, both internal and external to the organization.
Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders to create a culture of service and continuous improvement.
Demonstrated experience formulating and implementing strategic plans.
Ability to identify, negotiate, and manage partnerships with external organizations to drive revenue growth.
Ability to communicate effectively and articulately in both oral and written communication, while taking into account multiple perspectives and competing interests.
Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, academic administrators, and staff to develop new revenue-generating programs consistent with the needs of the institution.
Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing environment.
Demonstrated leadership in implementing technology to support organizational strategies.

The target base annual salary is commensurate and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
