Position Summary

The EC Motor Process Engineer – Qualification is responsible for developing, qualifying, and optimizing manufacturing processes for EC motors. This role ensures production and line readiness for new models, improves process capability, and drives continuous improvement in quality, cost, productivity, and safety. The position requires strong technical expertise in motor assembly processes, problem-solving skills, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, R&D, and Suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Development & Qualification

  • Develop, validate, and qualify manufacturing processes for EC motor products.
  • Support new model launch activities
  • Establish process parameters and ensure readiness for mass production.

2. Manufacturing Process Engineering

  • Set up and optimize EC motor assembly lines, including:
    • Stator coil winding, insertion, varnish impregnation, and curing
    • Rotor assembly, balancing, and runout inspection
    • PCB soldering, potting, ICT/FCT testing
    • Final performance testing, including noise and vibration
  • Design and improve jigs, fixtures, and tooling using SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Implement PLC/SCADA systems for process monitoring, data logging, and traceability.

3. Quality & Problem Solving

  • Conduct root cause analysis using 3-Leg 5 Why, Fishbone, DMAIC, and other problem-solving tools.
  • Support Failure Analysis (FA) for PCBA and motor control boards.
  • Prepare and maintain PFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions (WI), and calibration records for jigs and measurement equipment.

4. Productivity Improvement

  • Analyze cycle time, line balancing, OEE performance, and implement corrective actions.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, DOE, and other tools to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and enhance process robustness.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to support operational excellence.

5. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Prepare reports, technical documentation, and presentations in English.
  • Support internal and external audits related to process and product quality.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Production, Quality, R&D, Facilities, and Supplier teams to ensure smooth operation and timely project execution.
  • Support supplier development related to components, tooling, and process capability.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in motor manufacturing process engineering (EC motor, BLDC motor, or electronic assembly preferred).
  • Solid knowledge of motor structure: stator, rotor, PCB control, housing, bearing, shaft assembly.
  • Familiar with motor electrical characteristics: winding, commutation, hall sensor, insulation, and performance testing.
