Caterpillar is seeking a Logistics Production Manager in Athens, GA. In this role, you will lead the Point of Use Logistics team in delivering production material to the lineside Assembly process.  You will collaborate with the production teams in maintaining and improving processes and systems in the manufacturing of the products produced in the facility. Further you will analyze and recommend current and future systems procedures and equipment needs based on manufacturing requirements.

What you can look forward to in this role:

• Monitors and improves shop floor safety, aggressively eliminates unsafe processes
• Assures processes are followed to meet production schedules
• Determines priorities and sequences jobs
• Schedules and prioritizes constrained resources, and adjusts staffing to meet flow and customer requirements
• Determines and executes disciplinary action when appropriate
• Procures and distributes production material to meet schedules
• Ensures preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule
• Implements and practices Lean Manufacturing using 6 Sigma and other available tools
• Evaluates, assess, identifies and leads the deployment of workforce training
• Section Value Stream Mapping

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

• A working knowledge of Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.
• A working knowledge in Talent Management: Knowledge of human resources and talent management processes; ability to lead, motivate, evaluate, and reward employees at the workplace.
• A working knowledge of Manufacturing Operations: Knowledge of manufacturing operations; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:

• Manufacturing experience with a focus on Point of Use Logistics
• Experience in leadership within manufacturing environment
• Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers.

The primary location for this position is Athens, GA.
