Job Description

This is not an official description, but represents major responsibilities a new hire can expect to perform.You could expect the position of Service Center Cashier to include the following:

CASHIER DUTIES:

• Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Answer phone
• Cash Checks
• Process Western Union transactions
• Sell Money Orders
• Process merchandise returns and refunds
• Pick up cash from lane sweeps
• Know all aspects of checking and help with any issues that may happen at the lane

BOOKKEEPER DUTIES:

• Settles cash drawers and sets up beginning cash balance
• Generates sales reports for previous business day
• Orders money from cash service; i.e., Brinks to maintain cash balance in safe
• Balance safe and generate reports associated with balancing function
• Load lottery vending machines; balance cash from machines with sales reports

Additional responsibilities may include:
• Reprint orders
• Do journal transactions (in case of receipt printing malfunction at registers)


TRAINING

Training will be provided at store level.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Bending
Stooping
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Working on feet entire shift (4-8 hours)

Additional Requirements – Internal Candidates:

• Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
• If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.

Compensation Pay Range:

$15.35 - $16.50
