Job Details:

Purpose

In collaboration with the Dell Seton Abdominal Transplant Clinic team, the successful candidate will support ongoing research activities and quality improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient data collection for the quantitative study of the barriers in access to transplantation. 

  • Serve as the point of contact for patients to explain the research and gauge their interest in participating. 

  • Obtain written consent from patients interested in participating in study. 

  • Conduct in-person health literacy assessments with patients. 

  • Become a proficient user of the UT Research software, REDCap. Enter and clean data collected, maintain documentation in REDCap and Box spreadsheets. 

 

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must be eligible for Work-Study employment with UT and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The candidate should demonstrate reliability by consistently showing up on time and maintaining flexibility in scheduling. Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills is required. An interest in public health, healthcare, social science, or research is preferred, along with an understanding of the importance of patient confidentiality.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include fluency in Spanish and prior experience working in a clinical setting with patient interaction. Familiarity with REDCap is a plus. Coursework in health education, public health, research methodology, or social science is desirable, as is experience with data collection and analysis or an interest in gaining hands‑on experience in these areas.

Salary Range
$16.00 Hourly

Work Location  

Onsite required at the Adult Abdominal Transplant Clinic, located at Dell Seton Medical Center, 1500 Red River Street, Austin TX 78701. Training will be onsite.
