We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Development Engineer to take ownership of developing and maintaining critical internal platforms, tools, and services that support Philips Hue organization.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in software engineering, proficiency in multiple programming languages (such as Python and Java), and deep knowledge of modern cloud technologies including AWS, serverless architectures, containerization, orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement of our systems.

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs that power internal tools and system integrations.

• Design, implement, and maintain frontend components to enhance systems with various UI features and improvements.

• Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our systems through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and incident response.

• Develop Infrastructure as Code for consistent and automated provisioning.

• Enhance CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency and reliability for development teams.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and implement new features or improvements to existing systems.

• Utilize strong knowledge of AWS to design, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions.

• Manage containerized applications with Docker, Kubernetes, or Amazon ECS.

• Apply modern security and SecOps practices to safeguard cloud platforms.

More about you

While we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• 3 years of experience with developing cloud-based services on public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) in a continuous delivery environment with daily deliveries to production. Certification desired.

• Proven experience as a Software Engineer in maintaining and developing complex systems.

• Proficiency in Python and Java, with experience in the Spring framework as extra.

• Strong knowledge of AWS and serverless architecture.
