Job summary:
Acrisure is seeking an experienced Commercial Auto Claims Adjuster to manage a diverse portfolio of auto liability, bodily injury, APD, and cargo claims from initial assignment through final resolution. This role is responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and settling claims while ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
This opportunity is well-suited for a claims professional who is comfortable handling both litigated and non-litigated files, including moderate to complex exposures within the transportation and commercial auto space. You will work closely with internal teams, legal partners, and external stakeholders to drive timely, fair, and well-documented claim outcomes.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical claims expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload. This is an opportunity to step into a highly impactful role supporting complex claims while mentoring peers and contributing to overall team success.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 100–120 commercial auto claims, including bodily injury, APD, and cargo exposures
  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims from assignment through closure
  • Handle a mix of litigated and non-litigated claims, partnering with defense counsel as needed
  • Review coverage, assess liability, and determine appropriate claim handling strategies
  • Negotiate settlements within authority and contribute to resolution strategies on higher exposure claims
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant claim documentation within the claims management system
  • Ensure adherence to all state and federal regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, attorneys, and claimants to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Monitor claim activity and proactively manage timelines, reserves, and case developments
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced adjusters on claims handling practices
  • Support special projects and additional claims-related responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience handling heavy commercial auto and/or bodily injury claims required
  • Direct experience managing claims involving trucking, transportation, or similar commercial risks required
  • Exposure to litigated claims and the ability to support litigation management activities required
  • Proven ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload with competing priorities
  • Strong understanding of coverage analysis, liability evaluation, and settlement negotiation strategies
  • Carrier experience strongly preferred; TPA experience also considered
  • Experience handling Auto Physical Damage (APD) and cargo claims highly beneficial
  • Multi-jurisdictional claims handling experience beneficial
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex claims scenarios
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation and stakeholder management
  • Typing proficiency of 65+ WPM and comfort learning claims management systems
Education and licenses:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Active adjuster license required
  • Additional state licenses or multi-jurisdictional licensing beneficial

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
