Position Overview
Apollo is seeking an experienced and detail oriented ESG professional to join the Equity Responsible & Sustainable Operations (RSO) team and manage Equity’s regulatory tracking and portfolio company engagement for regulatory purposes (e.g. CSRD), investor reporting and data handling for Equity specific use cases. This role will collaborate with others on the team and across the firm (including the PE RSO team principals, investment professionals, portfolio company teams and the Apollo corporate Sustainability team). This position will have significant responsibilities related to Apollo Equity’s regulatory tracking, disclosure and transparency with both investors and internal personnel, and accordingly, successful candidates will have strong writing, editing, data visualization and PowerPoint skills.
- Establish timelines, processes, and project management for ensuring regulatory compliance for applicable regulations in a timely fashion.
- Project manage and lead reporting processes (outside of annual reporting) across equity
- Actively engage with portfolio companies and 3rd party consultants to help drive regulatory compliance and fulfil specific reporting requirements.
- Partner with others, including internal and external stakeholders and team members, with regards to applicable regulations, ESG data collection and PE specific reporting activities.
- Partner with Corporate Sustainability team to build off existing annual ESG reporting infrastructure to collect and report SFDR and bespoke ESG KPIs from Private Equity portfolio companies and Real Estate investments.
- Support the execution and tracking of cross portfolio engagement and capability development management mechanisms, including data collection, key metrics, milestones, successes, and lessons learned.
- Develop ESG presentations for specific PE and RE funds to support internal and external stakeholder communications.
- Supplement existing financed emissions framework and methodology to improve disclosures around specific funds’ financed emissions.
- Implement and expand upon existing good governance processes for specific funds and report findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide training to Apollo and portfolio company stakeholders on SFDR updates/news, metric guidance, and data collection processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) and/or Sustainability.
- At least 2-year track record of developing and delivering qualitative and quantitative reporting.
- Understanding and knowledge of global regulatory regimens affecting private equity and portfolio companies.
- Understanding and knowledge of fundamental ESG frameworks, principles, conventions, regulatory regimes, etc.
- Highly organized and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to tolerate ambiguity and navigate complex business and projects. Strong verbal, writing, editing, data visualization and PowerPoint skills
- Superior interpersonal skills; builds and maintains strong relationships/credibility with counterparties.
- People management or team coordination experience is preferred.
- Excels in a fast-paced, rigorous work environment; effectively prioritizes and meets deadlines.
- Entrepreneurial, self-guided work ethic with results-driven orientation.
Pay Range
120,000 -150,000
The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
