As a Consultant, Senior Consultant, or Managing Consultant providing financial management services to our Transportation clients, you will experience a variety of engagements. Our financial management practitioners predominately support CFO clients. Engagements may include control assessments, process assessment studies and improvement efforts, strategic and change management efforts to guide stakeholders through business transitions (e.g., due to new financial standards, requirements, systems), assessments designed to gather and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data into recommendations, and program management efforts supporting financial and/or grant operations.

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Participating in meetings with client and team to understand project / program objectives and challenges regarding client structure, process, technology, operations, and / or culture
  • Working with a team to develop solutions to solve process and policy challenges for CFO clients
  • Synthesizing and documenting information based on client interviews and research
  • Leveraging data analysis skills to improve processes and deliver insights on financial / grants programs
  • Proposing data-oriented ideas and solutions and help synthesize for recommendation to the client
  • Understanding strengths / weaknesses of existing data sets and data handling practices, and propose ideas and solutions to help the team and client more efficiently and effectively manage and report data
  • Leading implementation of accepted recommendations and solutions
  • Presenting updated deliverables and work products to team leadership and client, making complex concepts simple
  • Being adaptable to changing client requirements and asks and be able to work closely with project leadership to solve challenges
  • Supporting team management with business development activities, including, but not limited to, proposal writing and client research
  • Demonstrating an ability to learn new skills, challenge yourself, and increase your capabilities and competencies

What You Will Need:

  • 1+ years of experience in internal / external client facing management consulting, strategy, or operations position
  • 1+ years of experience in a financial-related field / discipline
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university
  • Significant proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and critical thinking
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust clearance

  • This is a hybrid role which requires you to be within a commutable distance and have the ability to work out of Arlington, VA or at a client site in the DC Metro. If located outside of area, must be willing to relocate without financial assistance.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Experience in consulting (preferably Federal)
  • Knowledge of the Federal financial and grants management landscape (e.g., FMFIA, OMB Circular A-123, 2 CFR 200)
  • Certification(s) (e.g., Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM))
