Job Summary:

This role will be responsible for fabrication of new components.  Additionally, this role will assist with repair and maintenance of equipment related to ready-mix concrete production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform metal fabrication for plant operations.
  • Take a fabrication project from concept through completion
  • Weld and cut on equipment when necessary.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on ready-mix plant, conveyor, mixer, loader, and recycler such as oiling, greasing, and changing filters.
  • Perform emergency maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary, such as welding, replacing parts, and changing bags on dust collector.
  • Perform general cleanup of plant and yard such as shoveling and sweeping.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with company employees, suppliers, and customers. Promote and maintain the professional image and reputation of the company and ensure timely problem resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Complete all paperwork required by employer. Examples: (Have reports or equipment maintenance schedules, work orders, and employee time sheets.)
  • Other duties as assigned by the plant maintenance manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Three to five years of experience in welding/fabrication
  • Training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, including welding diagrams and symbols
  • Welding Certificate equal to or above AWS D1.1 Minnesota Welding Standards.
  • Experience welding aluminum and TIG welding preferred
  • Experience in maintenance of equipment, such as air compressors, mixers, conveyors, motors, and other miscellaneous equipment.
  • Valid Department of Transportation Certified Class A Commercial Driver’s License or acquire one within 45 working days from receipt of this job description.
