The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to join our software engineering team. This team is responsible for building tools that improve portfolio manager workflows and drive efficiencies across the business. Our flagship product, SchonGPT, is an internal AI platform that provides ChatGPT-like functionality with deep integrations into internal systems to enhance workflows. Additionally, the team supports internal tools that empower teams to build their own AI solutions via chat-based interfaces or APIs.

 

What you’ll do 

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. 
  • Drive initiatives to improve code quality, system resilience, and overall performance of our software solutions. 
  • Work closely with internal customers to understand their requirements and translate them into elegant, scalable architectures. 
  • Establish and promote best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation. 
  • Lead the development and enhancement of SchonGPT and other internal tools, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance. 
  • Contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap, aligning it with business goals and emerging technologies.
  • Experience in UX/User Experience

 

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a software engineering team.  
  • Proficiency in Python and AWS. 
  • Experience in UX/UI
  • Experience in building shared, distributed tools. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

The base pay for this role is expected to be between $180,000 – $250,000. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
