Position Description:

Supports Application Programming Interface (API) and HTTP networks by employing different database drivers (NoSQL Databases and Graph QL). Develops tools and solutions to create and maintain platforms, using DevOps Toolkit (Kubernetes, Rush-hour, Datadog, Jenkins, and Splunk). Develops software processes using Cloud providers – Amazon Web Services (AWS), Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), and Lambda. Transmits data in Web application tools (XML and JSON) and modern Application Servers with RESTful services and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Builds automation pipelines to enhance application efficiency, performance, and agility, using DevOps processes and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools – Maven, Jenkins, Stash, Ansible, and Docker. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing highly transactional microservices in a financial services environment, using Java, Spring Boot, Postman, Git and DevOps tools (Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Docker).

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field  (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing highly transactional microservices in a financial services environment, using Java, Spring Boot, Postman, Git and DevOps tools (Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Docker).

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and implementing on-premises and Cloud based self-service Java Web applications according to business requirements and architecture standards, using AWS Cloud based solution architecture, REST and SOAP APIs, and Swagger.
  • DE developing Web API application features and performing end to end testing, using Junit, Mockito, TestNG, and Cucumber; and performing secure code analysis using SonarQube.
  • DE deploying and delivering on-premises and Cloud based self-service Java Web applications, using Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools – Jenkins, Artifactory (Jfrog), and UDeploy.
  • DE monitoring Cloud based self-service Java Web applications, using Datadog and on-premises applications (Splunk).
