Demand Planner (Engineered-to-Order | ETO Environment)
Why This Role Is Different
This isn’t traditional demand planning. In this role, you’ll operate at the intersection of custom engineering, project execution, and supply chain strategy—where every order is unique and timelines are dynamic.
You’ll play a pivotal role in translating complex, project-based demand into executable plans, ensuring alignment across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer-facing teams. Your work directly impacts delivery performance, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency in a highly customized manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Own
Demand & Project Planning
Translate customer orders, project milestones, and pipeline data into actionable demand and supply plans
Partner with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management to align on scope, timelines, and evolving requirements
Build and maintain forward-looking demand visibility across short-, mid-, and long-term horizons
Production & Order Execution
Develop and manage production schedules aligned to capacity, materials, and project priorities
Create and oversee manufacturing orders supporting engineered-to-order builds
Monitor execution and proactively mitigate risks related to delays, bottlenecks, or shifting timelines
Material & Inventory Strategy
Ensure availability of long-lead and critical components for complex builds
Collaborate with Procurement to manage constraints, expedite materials, and reduce supply risk
Maintain and optimize planning parameters (MRP, lead times, safety strategies) tailored to an ETO environment
Cross-Functional Leadership
Serve as the central coordination point across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams
Communicate risks, changes, and trade-offs clearly and proactively
Contribute to S&OP / SIOP, capacity planning, and project reviews
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
Resolve issues related to material shortages, design changes, rework, and schedule disruptions
Identify opportunities to improve lead times, delivery performance, and planning accuracy
Support implementation of systems, tools, and best practices for ETO planning
Reporting & Insights
Track and report on on-time delivery, schedule adherence, backlog health, and capacity utilization
Maintain accurate system data to enable reliable planning and execution
Provide actionable insights on demand trends, risks, and operational constraints

Improved visibility, predictability, and responsiveness across the supply chain

Qualifications
Minimum
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field)
3–7+ years of experience in planning, scheduling, or supply chain within manufacturing
Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
Advanced proficiency in Excel (data analysis, pivot tables, etc.)
Preferred
Experience in engineered-to-order, project-based, or low-volume / high-complexity environments
Familiarity with S&OP / SIOP processes
APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent
Experience partnering closely with Engineering and Project Management teams
