Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated AUTOMATION SOFTWARE ENGINEER  who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks, from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Genoa, Italy. Automation 2.0 is a software suite developed entirely by Hitachi Rail STS for next-generation railway automation systems and integrated operational control centers. The project support group is the link between development groups and project groups to aid in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of automation software 2.0.

Accountabilities

• Be a part of the team that will design and develop the new Automation 2.0 deployment platform.
• Configurations management.
• Maintenance and support for existing projects.
• Customization of the 2.0 automation suite based on project requirementst.
• Commissioning of automation software 2.0 in existing projects.

Required Skills/Knowledge

• Object-oriented programming with usage proficiency of at least one OOP language.
• Linux operating systems usage
• Bash scripting
