Reporting to the BHR Manager, you will provide a comprehensive HR service to meet the growing needs of a busy and challenging healthcare services environment in accordance with business policies, procedures, and objectives.  The role will support EMEA Financial Shared Services, EMEA IT Hub, Ireland Commercial, Pharmaceutical Division roles and Corporate roles across two Abbott sites in Dublin (Cherrywood and Liffey Valley). 

Key responsibilities: 

• Business Partnering with Senior Management both onsite and outside of Ireland to ensure HR and Business strategy is achieved. 

• Delivering outstanding customer focus by delivering value-add, best in class HR support to internal customers. 

• Supporting business change initiatives such as organisation redesign and transfer of undertakings. 

• Ensuring that corporate and country HR initiatives are incorporated into the business area priorities. 

• Devising HR initiatives to support the development of people management practices and increase Employee Engagement in both Cherrywood, Liffey Valley sites. 

• Supporting the annual HR cyclical process as required. 

• Leading HR related initiatives such as driving a high performance culture/organisation, optimising employee engagement, Employee relations, employee diversity and inclusion initiatives, talent development and succession planning. 

• Collaborating with Ireland, Division and Corporate colleagues to achieve HR and Business strategy 

• Assisting with the preparation of HR metrics and analytics and monthly payroll processing for relevant legal entities. 

Education & Job Skills : 

• National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline and minimum 5+ years of related HR Generalist / HR Business Partner work experience in a multinational company in related industry, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. 

• Solid understanding and application of business concepts, HR procedures and practices.  Solid experience in the coaching and co-ordination of Employee Relations process per Abbott HR policies e.g. Disciplinary, Grievance, Performance Improvement Plan in line with current Irish employment law and WRC case outcomes.

• Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.  Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Has a sound knowledge of a variety of alternatives and their impact on their business unit.   

• Establishes and cultivates an extensive network of support to facilitate completion of assignments. Participates in the development of less experienced staff or partnering with people leaders by setting an example, providing guidance, and offering counsel in technical elements of HR. Leads or Subject Matter Expert in project team.  Participates in determining goals and objectives for projects. Influences people leaders on technical or business solutions. 

• Plans and organises non-routine tasks.  Initiates or maintains work schedule. Establishes priorities of work assignments. 

• Exercises judgment in selecting innovative, practical methods to achieve problem resolution. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious delays and considerable expenditure of resources.   

• Works under minimal supervision. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
