HR Systems leads and manages HP's HR Systems, Data and Technology Enablement. Human Resources recognizes us as the first stop for "the what" in systems enablement, as experts in providing solutions support to complex business problems, and as the gateway to IT.

The HR Systems Program/Project Manager is an intermediate level position with varying responsibilities but primarily responsible for Program/Project Management of major Plan of Record directives. This position will oversee the implementation of global HR initiatives utilizing HR and IT resources to achieve the desired result.

 Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with HR and IT project managers to complete project objectives on-time and within budget
  • Develop, control, update the project plan
  • Develop project team structure and identify roles and responsibilities/expectations for each team member
  • Point of contact for sponsors and stakeholders regarding project
  • Focuses on scope, cost, schedule, resources, risks, critical dependencies, constraints, and outcomes
  • Communicates project status to sponsors and stakeholders on regular basis
  • Ensures that each project phase is completed, reviewed, and signed off by sponsors
  • Ensures that the project team works effectively to achieve objectives
  • Tracks Issues, driving ownership and resolution
  • Owner of project documents (project plan, action logs, issues logs, decision logs, etc.)
  • Approves strategy documents (deployment, testing strategy, etc.)
  • Escalates issues impacting the project to working sponsor as appropriate
  • Risk Planning, Mitigation, and Contingency Planning
  • Project Team Meeting Facilitation
  • Drives creation, prioritization and clarification of business requirements
  • Presents to HR Systems in Checkpoint meetings throughout the project
  • Facilitates project review meetings, phase reviews, steering committee meetings
  • Leads global, virtual team
  • Manages engagement with external vendors when necessary
  • Supports PMO administrative tasks

Education and Experience Required: 

  • First-level university degree or equivalent experience
  • Typically, 2+ years related experience in human resources functional area, HR Generalist, or HR Consulting role
  • Minimum of 2 years program/project management experience on global implementations
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required as a business, systems, data or project analyst in relevant HR or IT function 
  • PMI or PMP certification preferred

Knowledge and Skills Required: 

  • Knowledge of human resources, with an expertise in several functional areas (compensation, benefits, staffing, learning and development, etc.)
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Very good verbal and written communications skills, including influence, consulting, and negotiation
  • Strong program management skills, including implementation and feedback analysis; strong leadership skills
  • Good relationship management skills
  • Ability to translate business needs into human resources initiatives
  • Ability to manage change across a broad and diverse population
  • Workday HCM experience is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook, SharePoint, and Smartsheet
  • Experience using program planning tools and software packages to create, manage and track project results
  • SOX Audit experience is preferred
  • Very good presentation skills with the ability to tailor the presentation based on the audience
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance and support to junior team members
  • Flexibility to work across time zones and geographies
