Job Description:

The IMS Database Administrator would need to have at least 6+ years of experience.

In this role, you will be the IMS Database Administrator (DBA) for Mainframe applications.

Candidate must have exp in (on-line and Batch) IMS DB/DC environment.

As the DBA, you will conduct performance monitoring and tuning activities, backup and recovery as well as troubleshooting applications on IMS databases.

- Based on applications' requirements perform all changes to IMS databases in Test and Production environments.

- Implement and maintain Database backup and recovery strategy.

- Experience in creation of DBDs, PSBs, ACBs

- Strong Knowledge on IMS Utilities and DBRC.

- Experience in database initialization, forward recovery & building secondary index and pointer checker, checkpoint restart.

- Provide Production support - on-call 7x24.

- Provide troubleshooting and problem determination during outage or daily issues.

- Monitor space utilization.

-  Assist with testing and validation of database software upgrades (IMS v14).

- Administration of databases throughout the development and production lifecycles.

Excellent Communication Skills.

IMS System programmer -

Systems Programmer - IMS System programmer min 4 years of experience. Capable of Installing/Upgrading IMS and related products.

The products include IMS, IBM IMS Tools,

BMC & CA IMS Tools, File-Aid/IMS, Omegamon XE/IMS etc.

Good Knowledge of SMP/E, JCL, IMS logging, IMS Commands, IMS GEN's, IMS Data sharing, IMSPlex etc.

Good understanding of IMS connectivity with other subsystems & components within the mainframe.

Understanding of IMS applications and Databases. Maintain reliability, availability of IMS systems software.

* Installation, upgrade and maintenance of IMS DB/DC and related products

* Sound knowledge in SMPE

* Familiarity with problem determination, security and performance tuning.

* Usage of IMS performance reports/metrics to analyse improvements.

* Good experience with software maintenance.

*Knowledge about the pverall IBM speciality engines [ processors ] and their performance.

*Good understanding of ITIL processes and procedures.

*Ability to perform diagnostics and perform RCA [ Root cause analysis ].

*Strong analytical and documentation skills.

*Should be a team player with excellent communication and technical skills.

*Provide a 7/24 service on-call to clients
