Job Description:

The Head of National Sales, Wealth designs, implements and executes sales and net asset growth (NAG) initiatives and strategies in collaboration with Wealth Partners (Product, Platform, CIO, Retirement, Client Experience, Operations, Data, Supervision across the Mass, Mass Affluent (MA) and High Net Worth segments. This role leads critical collaboration efforts with all of TD AMCB and TD Securities. The Head of National Sales, Wealth creates and executes ongoing communications designed to ensure all groups are informed, aligned and empowered to achieve sales and NAG objectives. This role directs internal and external wholesaler activities and guide key relationships. This role creates and delivers programs to enhance usage of tools and the full platform available to Advisors and Field Leaders, and works closely with the Metrics and Analytics team to deliver effective metrics and analytical tools to assess critical measures such as productivity, opportunity penetration and success by job family.  This role works closely with the Wealth Product team to ensure that TD Wealth offers all critical solutions and tools to deliver solutions in a client friendly manner.  Additionally, this role collaborates with internal partners and Field Leaders to ensure we are able to attract and retain qualified Advisors.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Creates and maintains a comprehensive business plan to seize the HNW and MA client opportunity within US Wealth and TD AMCB and TD Securities
  • Builds and leads a team of National Sales professionals who design, implement and execute business development strategies designed to achieve or exceed US Wealth sales and NAG plans within targeted segments
  • Strategically partners with the Institutional team within US Wealth to maximize referrals of Institutional and Private Client opportunities and relationships
  • Strategically collaborates with TD AMCB and TD Securities to maximize engagement and referrals of clients and prospects to US Wealth
  • Collaborates with all facets of US Wealth (Product, CIO, Operations, Supervision, etc) to build, maintain and enhance key Solutions and Services needed to meet the needs of core Wealth clients
  • Strategically partners with federated area of TD in the US and Canada (Marketing, Professional Development, Digital, Technology) to leverage corporate capabilities within US Wealth
  • Builds initiatives, strategies, client engagements, partner engagements, sales policies and procedures that meet or exceed industry regulations in collaboration with Compliance, Legal and Supervision partners
  • Meets or exceeds sales, NAG, revenue and other key metric objectives
  • Creates and maintains a culture of strong controls, compliance and operational excellence, risk management and executes accordingly

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience in investments, banking and lending
  • FINRA Series 7, 9, 10 (or equivalent – S24) and 66 (or equivalent) required; Life and Health Insurance Licenses required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead other Senior leaders through direct reporting and through influence
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal mediums
  • Broad knowledge base and experience in Financial Services with sound understanding of regulatory frameworks that apply to TD Wealth
  • Strong Control and Operational experience and knowledge of Industry standards across banking, lending and investment platforms
  • Knowledge of SEC, FINRA, OCC, Firm Compliance and Policies and Procedures
  • Evidence of strong leadership capabilities or previous supervisory experience
  • Excellent judgment and ability to be discreet in all matters
  • Strong work ethic
  • Travel  – 50% required

  • This position is with a FINRA member, broker and/or dealer and is subject to the requirements of FINRA and Securities Laws.  May (or may not) be a registered position under FINRA.
  • Must be eligible for employment under standards established by FINRA.  Subject to the investigation and verification requirements of FINRA Rule 3110(e), including:  the Firm's obligation to investigate the good character, business reputation, qualifications and experience of an applicant for registration before applying to register the applicant with FINRA and filing the applicant's Form U4 with the CRD, and before representing on the applicant's Form U4 that it has conducted this investigation and verified the accuracy and completeness of the information contained in the applicant's Form U4; and the Firm's obligation to verify the accuracy and completeness of the information contained on the applicant’s Form U4, no later than 30 calendar days after the Form U4 is filed with FINRA.
  • Satisfactory results on a criminal background check, credit report check, civil litigation search, and regulatory agency or self-regulatory organization enforcement action search, and statements/certification from job applicant regarding administrative, civil, and/or criminal findings by any government agency/authority or self-regulatory organization, are required by federal law for this position.
