This role requires to work on CET time zone.
Lead and secure all custom ABAP developments across the SAP BRIM stack.
This role focuses on delivering robust, performant and upgrade-safe ABAP code supporting high-volume BRIM processes, while protecting SAP standard configuration and avoiding unnecessary customizations.
Main missions:
Lead and coordinate all ABAP custom developments within the SAP BRIM landscape.
Ensure custom code remains clean, maintainable, and upgrade-safe, aligned with SAP standards.
Act as the technical reference for ABAP within BRIM delivery teams.
Secure performance and reliability of custom developments supporting high-volume billing and invoicing.
Actively challenge and eliminate bad or unnecessary customizations.
Tasks:
Design, develop and oversee ABAP custom solutions impacting SAP BRIM modules (CI, SOM, CM, CC, FI-CA).
Review and validate ABAP developments produced by the team (code quality, performance, SAP compliance).
Ensure business logic is implemented through standard configuration whenever possible, and not pushed into custom code.
Implement and enforce ABAP development best practices (naming, modularization, error handling, testing).
Optimize and troubleshoot performance-critical ABAP programs, especially in rating, billing and invoicing cycles.
Support delivery teams during build, test and hypercare phases for complex technical issues.
Participate in technical design discussions to assess feasibility and implementation options from an ABAP standpoint.
Work closely with the Solution Architect to align ABAP implementations with functional and solution design.
Coordinate with the Delivery Lead to ensure developments are ready, stable and releasable.
7+ years of experience in ABAP development, including complex SAP enterprise environments.
Proven experience working on high-volume billing and invoicing processes.
Strong hands-on experience with SAP BRIM custom developments, especially CI, SOM, CM, CC and FI-CA.
Solid understanding of SAP standard configuration vs ABAP extensions, having also the ability to leverage standard APIs to minimize custom code and protect SAP standard.
Strong hands-on experience with SAP BRIM and S/4HANA APIs (standard interfaces, events, enhancement frameworks) to build upgrade-safe extensions.
Strong focus on code quality, performance and maintainability.
Comfortable reviewing, refactoring and challenging existing ABAP code.
Pragmatic problem-solver, able to diagnose and fix complex technical issues.
Comfortable working in an Agile environment, collaborating closely with functional and delivery teams
Demonstrated ability to technically lead and mentor an ABAP development team, promoting best practices, code quality and collective ownership.
Clear communicator, able to collaborate effectively with functional experts, architects and delivery teams.
Team-oriented mindset, contributing to collective code quality and delivery success.
Experience working in international and distributed teams (offshored team collaboration is a plus).
