What is the Global Insurance Management Director responsible for?

The Global Insurance Management Director manages and coordinates the firm’s global insurance program for the firm’s Corporate and Fund related entities. 

We’re seeking an experienced risk and insurance professional with subject-matter-expertise across all aspects of managing an insurance program for a global investment management firm.

The position reports to the SVP - Head of Enterprise Risk & Insurance and is supported by a dedicated Sr Risk & Insurance Analyst.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Global Insurance Management Director?

  • Lead the annual renewal processes and manage insurer relationships

  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes and ensure compliance

  • Conduct marketing exercises, review renewal quotes, and assess coverage terms

  • Present to boards of directors and secure approvals for policy renewals

  • Bind policies, review binders, invoices, and policies

  • Allocate insurance premiums and coordinate global invoice processing

  • Maintain global insurance inventory

  • Identify and manage risk exposures and execute insurance risk management strategies

  • Communicate insurance coverage and claims scenarios to internal stakeholders

  • Coordinate with legal teams and external counsel in claims management

  • Provide status updates on claims and ensure transparency with insurer partners

  • Advocate for maximum insurance recovery

  • Track claims expenses and reimbursements

  • Manage insurance brokerage relationships and services

  • Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and external partners

  • Analyze insurance requirements in contracts and leases

  • Respond to global insurance inquiries and reporting

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • 15+ years of relevant insurance experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; additional degrees and designations are a plus

  • Experience in a global financial services firm; asset management experience preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to present to and influence board and senior level executives

  • Intellectually curious and strategic thinker

  • Ability to lead initiatives and influence outcomes

  • Periodic travel required

Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $150,000.00 – $220,000.00.
