The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for leading the overall operational performance of one or more business units or facilities. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of operations while driving continuous improvement, developing leaders, and aligning operational strategies with business objectives. The Senior Operations Manager partners cross-functionally to achieve operational excellence in quality, delivery, cost, people, and customer satisfaction.
About You Role:
Operational Leadership
• Lead day-to-day operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and
productivity objectives.
• Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Drive accountability through performance metrics and operational reviews.
• Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.
People Leadership
• Lead, coach, and develop managers and operational leaders.
• Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, engagement, and
continuous improvement.
• Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.
Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and safe work environment.
• Manage workforce planning to meet current and future business needs.
Continuous Improvement
• Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other operational
excellence methodologies.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and customer
service.
• Lead cross-functional improvement projects.
• Promote a culture of innovation and problem-solving.
Financial Management
• Develop and manage operational budgets.
• Monitor labor, material, and overhead costs.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising safety or quality.
• Support capital investment planning and execution.
Customer & Business Partnership
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, HR, Finance, Maintenance,
and Commercial teams.
• Ensure customer commitments are consistently met.
• Support new product introductions, capacity expansion, and strategic initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Safety & Compliance
• Promote a zero-incident safety culture.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and labor regulations.
Lead investigations and corrective actions for operational incidents.
• Maintain readiness for internal and external audits.
About You:
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business
Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Master's degree (MBA or related discipline) preferred.
Experience
• 10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience.
• 5+ years leading managers and cross-functional teams.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or similar operational
environments.
• Demonstrated success improving operational performance and leading
organizational change.
