The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate Senior Network Architect/Engineer to design, architect, and implement innovative Enterprise IT solutions for programs and IRAD as a member of our Enterprise IT Solutions Factory (ESF) Team.

Responsibilities

Your focus will be on IT Network Modernization and contribute to the Network Engineering initiatives promoting the advancement of network modernization frameworks, approaches, toolkits, and solutions to enhance DoD and/or IC networks in support of national security.

  • Serve as technical lead on IT networking-related innovation projects, including implementing software defined networking architectures in a lab environment for use in multiple customer environments.

  • Conduct research to identify new technologies that could improve solutions.

  • Lead the development of architecture solutions and designs and participate in design reviews with the program teams or customers.

  • Facilitate technical exchange meetings with the customer and provide recommendations on possible solutions.

  • Develop, design, configure and implement data networking solutions based upon the customer’s performance criteria and specifications.

  • Prepare technical documentation describing new networking frameworks, approaches, and toolkits.

  • Develop and perform technical bootcamps.

  • Mentor junior engineers.

Preferred locations: High Point, NC, or Northern VA. Hybrid work with onsite presence for a minimum 3 days/week.

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • 7+ years’ or more of experience as a Lead Network Architect/Engineer or leading projects of similar scope

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or technical field, or equivalent working experience.

  • Must possess or quickly obtain industry certifications for data networking (CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIP, etc.) and security (Security+, CISSP, etc.) for IAT Level II

  • Must have experience in architecting, designing and deployment of Software Defined Networks (SDN) solutions for large-scale IT enterprise networks.

  • Hands-on experience in architecting, designing, development and integration of hybrid (Wireless/Wired) large scale networks.

  • Working experience and/or certifications with products and technologies from vendors like: Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto, Riverbed, Splunk, etc.

  • Highly skilled and have expertise with several of the following environments and tools: Linux, Unix, C, C++, Python, Java, MATLAB, Bash scripting.

  • Experience with on-premises, cloud-enabled, and cloud-enabled SD-WAN architectures.

  • Experience in using drawing tools such as Microsoft Visio or AutoCAD

  • Proficient in Microsoft software applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint

Security Requirements

Must be able to successfully complete our clearance sponsorship program to obtain an active clearance up to TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (US Citizenship required)

Desired:

  • Experience with cluster management software and cloud service providers such as GCP, AWS, and Azure

  • Knowledge and experience with wireless technologies 5G, LTE and Wi-Fi

  • Experience with DoD and/or IC network cyber security and DISA STIG requirements.

  • Experience with DOD and/or IC IT Network Architectures and requirements.

  • ITIL Foundation Certification

  • Experience managing projects with large VoIP and Data Network infrastructure modernization.

  • Experience working with DoD and/or IC customers.

  • Active DoD and/or IC Secret clearance

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$82,100-$172,400
