Job Description

Virtus ETF Solutions (VES), an affiliate of Virtus Investment Partners, operates a multi-manager ETF platform, providing investors access to differentiated investment capabilities from select subadvisors. We are seeking a Director, ETF Sales who will be responsible for expanding our exchange traded fund (ETF) client base among financial intermediaries in the United States.  This senior role will primarily be focused on coverage of registered investment advisors (RIAs) and financial advisors at independent broker dealers who utilize ETFs in client portfolios, with an emphasis on model managers and professional ETF buyers.

In addition to forging new relationships and strengthening existing ones, this role also encompasses aspects traditionally associated with investment product specialist and institutional sales functions; as such, the Director will be expected to collaborate with Virtus distribution personnel, supporting ETF-specific efforts in the field nationwide. This role will be based remotely, and the Director will be expected to travel extensively.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Represent Virtus as a subject matter expert demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of ETFs including detailed knowledge of underlying investment strategies, rationale for product positioning, drivers of performance and relevant market background.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities/relationships for Virtus’ ETF product suite.
  • Partner with Virtus wholesalers nationally, serving as a subject matter expert on our ETF product offerings.
  • Construct and execute, in collaboration with the Managing Director of ETF Sales, a strategic distribution plan to acquire new clients in ETF professional buyer channels.
  • Establish new strategic relationships with potential to extend beyond ETFs.
  • Deliver investor feedback to senior management about current product construct and actively contribute to new product ideas.
  • Conduct regular product training presentations to internal and external sales teams and travel to industry events and national sales meetings.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA and/or CFA, CAIA, CIMA, CFP designations desirable.
  • 10+ years of experience in the financial services/investment management industry.
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the ETF industry, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting fixed income and/or alternative ETFs desired.
  • The ability to develop and sustain strong working relationships across legal, compliance, marketing, product and investment teams.
  • FINRA Series 7 & 63 required.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.

The beginning starting salary of $160,000 to $180,000.

The starting salary offer will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible to participate in an incentive plan.
