Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves designing, building, and configuring applications tailored to fulfill specific business process and application needs. This role requires a thoughtful approach to understanding organizational requirements and translating them into effective software solutions. The position demands continuous collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure that the applications developed align with evolving business objectives and operational workflows. Throughout the day, the engineer balances technical development with strategic planning to deliver robust and scalable software that supports business efficiency and growth.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead the SAP Controlling (CO) workstream across end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation, rollout, upgrade, and support programs.
Manage a team of SAP CO consultants, providing technical guidance, mentoring, resource planning, and delivery governance.
Design and deliver solutions for Product Costing, Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Profit Center Accounting, Material Ledger, Actual Costing, Margin Analysis (Account-Based CO-PA), and Universal Parallel Accounting (UPA).
Drive Fit-to-Standard workshops, business process design, solution architecture, configuration reviews, testing, cutover, and hyper care.
Own end-to-end integration of SAP CO with:
FI – General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Universal Journal
MM – Procurement, Inventory Management, Material Valuation, Split Valuation, Material Ledger
SD – Order-to-Cash, Revenue Recognition, COGS Split, Margin Analysis
PP – Production Planning, Production Orders, Process Orders, Variance Calculation, Settlement
EWM – Goods Movements, Warehouse Processes, Inventory Integration
QM – Quality Management and inspection cost impacts
PM – Plant Maintenance order costing and settlements
PS – Project System budgeting, planning, and settlement
TM – Transportation cost integration
Tax – Integration with indirect tax solutions (e.g., Vertex/Sovos) and statutory reporting
Group Reporting, Treasury, and Planning Solutions (e.g., SAP Analytics Cloud/Tagetik) where applicable
Ensure seamless integration of finance and manufacturing processes, including standard costing, actual costing, inventory valuation, intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, and profitability reporting.
Lead SIT, UAT, regression testing, and production deployment activities across integrated workstreams.
Manage risks, dependencies, and change requests while ensuring timely project delivery.
Support presales activities, solution estimation, proposal development, and client presentations.
Leadership Responsibilities-
Lead onsite and offshore teams across multiple project phases.
Manage resource planning, project execution, quality assurance, and budget adherence.
Mentor consultants, conduct design and code reviews, and build team capabilities.
Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, project leadership, and client executives.
Drive governance meetings, steering committee updates, and executive reporting.
Required Skills-
12–20+ years of SAP FICO experience with deep expertise in SAP Controlling.
Multiple end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation and rollout projects.

Preferred Qualifications -
SAP S/4HANA Finance/Management Accounting certification.
Experience in solution architecture, delivery management, and presales.
Proven experience leading global teams and large-scale digital transformation programs.
