​​About the Role:

We are looking for a dependable Compounding Pharmacy Technician who will compound sterile medications. As a compounding technician, you will keep accurate records, keep up to date with training, and compound medications for Hims & Hers Pharmacy.

You Will:

  • Operate in ISO 5-8 environments performing essential duties to manufacturing sterile products.
  • Routine compounding operations including preparation and sterilization of labware, measuring, compounding, filing semi-automatically and working with automated filling machines.
  • Assist and perform compounding, verifying steps, aseptic processing, visual inspecting units for foreign matter, labeling, packaging, and shipping.
  • Complete compounding controlled documents and assignments with minimum errors and within an appropriate timeline.
  • Ability to perform duties related to material transfer, aseptic processing, and other cleanroom related duties such as cleaning and maintaining the cleanroom equipment.
  • Assist with general maintenance of activities related to the facility, and warehouse. 
  • Communicate with pharmacists and report on issues in the cleanroom. 
  • Restock medication shelves and supply bins; rotate and remove outdated materials and chemicals; maintain a clean working environment. Participate in the inventory as needed. 
  • Assist in record keeping according to cGDP, and reporting efficiency numbers to the compounding pharmacists. 
  • Provide quality assurance assistance to the compounding pharmacists. 
  • Knowledge of compounding terminology and calculations.

You Have:

  • Strong communication skills and can work independently.
  • Ability to work a Full-time role 40 hours per week and some overtimes as needed.
  • Availability to work 8-hours shift anytime between 6 am – 7 pm all days in a week. Willing to work overtime if it is necessary.
  • Experience as a pharmacy technician preparing and compounded sterile products or experience as a semi-manual/ automated aseptic filler in a manufacturing setting. Preferably has experience with sterile compounding for injectable grade products. Do not apply for this position, if you do not have any sterile compounding experience.
  •  Experience working with major automated equipment such as but not limited to filling, mixing, visual inspection, and labeling machines. Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot the issues related to the automated filling, mixing, labeling, and visual inspection machines.   
  •  Ability to be gowned up and work in the cleanroom environment for 8-hours with a break in between.
  •  Understanding and experience in USP <797> & USP<800> guidelines and manual aseptic manipulations making sterile compounded products.
  • Knowledge of Aseptic Process Simulation (APS) & Media Fill (MF).

Preferred:

  • Knowledge and experience in cGMP and FDA 21 CFR parts 210 and 211.
  • Experience participating in a Manufacturing Unit in an FDA approved GMP facility that includes cGMP compliance and sterile product preparation for pharmaceuticals.
  • Knowledge within the areas of quality control and process validation.
  • Familiarity and understanding of manufacturing methods related to quality control and sterilization assurance.
  •  Experience working with hazardous compounding according to USP<800>.
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Previous work experience as a sterile compounding in a hospital or home infusion setting.

Conditions of Employment: 

  • This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs. These items would include gloves, respiratory protection, gown and other items as required.
  • This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
  • Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100% of the time, squatting and bending up to 20% of the time and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Due to the risk of reproductive capability in handling or compounding certain Hazardous Drugs (HD) associates must be willing to confirm that they understand the potential risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity and reproductive effects) of handling hazardous drugs.

 

Outlined below is a reasonable estimate of H&H’s compensation range for this role for US-based candidates. If you're based outside of the US, your recruiter will be able to provide you with an estimated hourly range for your location.

The actual amount will take into account a range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and location. H&H also offers a comprehensive Total Rewards package that may include an equity grant.
