About the Team:

Store Merch Execution team is focused on building interconnected space design, strategy, execution and deployment ecosystem to improve customer shopping experience and enable “data driven decision making”​. SME Department consist of Engineering, Product Management and UX design teams. This position is created for Engineering team.

Job Summary:

The primary purpose of this role is to translate business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs and to deliver code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions. This includes developing, configuring, or modifying complex integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions within various computing environments. This role facilitates the implementation and maintenance of complex business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Understand the business requirement

• Should be able to collaborate and work with global teams.

• Individual will be part of Agile team and work along with Agile tools like JIRA

• will be involved in backend development using Java 17, Spring and Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security, Reactive programming, and Web Services (JSON, REST, JAX-RS, Spring based REST services). Spring cloud is desirable.

• Individual will work with DBs like PosgreSQL and MongoDB.

• Write unit test cases using Junit framework

• Ensure the code quality meets the industry standard by using with SonarQube platform

• Deploy the developed services on production and lower environment by using CI/CD tools

• Should be able to triage the production issues and provide appropriate solution for the prod issues.

Primary Skills (must have):

• 6+ Years of Experience with microservices and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes). Cloud exposure is desirable.

• Minimum 6 years of experience in Spring and Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security. Spring cloud is desirable.

• Experience in Web Services (JSON, REST, JAX-RS, Spring based REST services)

• Strong in Java 17

• Strong understanding of Java concurrency, concurrency patterns, experience building thread safe code

• Experience working with PostgreSQL DB.

• Experience with at least one of the development tools like Git, Gradle, Maven, Sonar, Jenkins, Artifactory etc

• Experience with TDD, code testability standards, JUnit/Mockito

• Experience with DevOps practices and CICD model of development

• Good understanding of OOP, design patterns and industry best practices

• Agile project experience along with working on Agile tools like JIRA

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Hands on experience in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, ReactJS, TypeScript

Secondary Skills (desired):

• Good to have e-commerce domain experience,

• Knowledge or experience in containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes.

Skill Set Required:

• Translates complex business requirements and functional specifications into executable stories, designs, and code modules; partners with product teams to understand business needs and functional specifications.
• Independently writes high quality, maintainable, and robust code by building adequate test suits and observability framework.
• Guides application and software development teams in the design and build of complex solutions and ensures teams are in alignment with the architecture blueprint, standards, and strategies.
• Participates and mentors other engineers in software development technologies and processes by creating onboarding documents, root cause analysis, key learnings, demos, and share-out sessions.
• Automates and simplifies team development, tests, and operations processes for efficiency of delivering the work.
• Evaluates modern software, tools, and technologies to provide objective analysis and recommendations to the team.

Required Qualifications:
• 5 years of experience in software development or a related field
• 4 years of experience in any of following competencies: frontend technologies (user interface/user experience), middleware (microservices and application programming interfaces), database technologies, or DevOps
• 4 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC) through iterative agile development
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems (CIS), or related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
