Citi Market Operations is currently at a pivotal point in its evolution and journey, embarking on a significant, multi-year transformation covering all aspects of designing and delivering a future state target operating model: risk and controls, regulatory compliance, process re-engineering, automation, people and culture, data transformation, technology investment and client service. This is a large and complex undertaking.

The Markets Operations Transformation team has been formed to support stakeholders both within Operations and across the bank, to design and deliver this multi-year transformation roadmap. Our transformation is underpinned by strategy, investment, change execution and a market-leading operations change delivery team focusing on program and project management, business analysis, process re-engineering, low code application development and PMO.

What You’ll Do:

The team is currently recruiting for a program manager at SVP level to lead multiple global initiatives across Middle Office and Securities Settlements spanning both Cash Equities and Fixed Income Business Lines.

The role will include taking a lead on key areas including regulatory and industry initiatives, vendor offerings, process improvement, root cause analysis, shaping investment business cases and working across our partner groups to create and execute on delivery. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects and their alignment to business goals  
  • Execute established project management disciplines including the development of program governance and effective stakeholder management to drive planning and execution
  • Identify, prioritise and proactively manage dependencies, risks, exceptions and issues
  • Review strategic opportunities for innovative solutions to help re-engineer processes, build scale and mitigate risk
  • Drive business solutions aligned to the strategy and generate business requirements ensuring they are clearly documented, strategic and well understood by all stakeholders
  • Work with sponsors to ensure that there are trackable, tangible benefits and associated KPIs.
  • Work collaboratively with technology, ensuring there are clear delivery plans aligned to Operations strategic requirements and hold delivery plan owners to account
  • Manage testing work streams, drive User Acceptance Testing collaborating with internal and external teams where required
  • Responsible for launch readiness, rollout plans, and post-implementation management
  • Develop and deliver presentations to Markets Operations and business management covering project / program status and plans
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of Operations training plans and materials, present training to small and large groups as required
  • Provide subject matter expertise for internal queries relating to appropriate projects
  • Lead, supervise, coach and develop more junior Markets Operations Program Execution team members

Knowledge and Experience:  

  • An individual who is highly experienced in leading complex and large-scale change initiatives with a strategic mindset, who can see ahead to future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies
  • Knowledge and experience of structured project management techniques in a Markets Operations environment
  • Hands-on expertise in designing and implementing structured business / operational processes and associated business requirements documentation
  • Knowledge of global markets trading products and the operational functions and processes to support them.  Cash Equities and Fixed Income with Middle Office and Settlements Experience preferred.
  • Understanding of trading processes across the full trade lifecycle within a large bank/dealer

  • Critical thinking and Strong analytical skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and organizational skills to mobilize and motivate delivery in a co-operative and collaborative working environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to effectively produce procedural documentation and communicate with senior management. Ability to seamlessly communicate complex technical issues to non-technical colleagues
  • Strong project management / business analysis skills; ability to gain consensus among staff and drive initiatives to completion effectively
  • Ability to work well under tight deadlines, manage competing priorities, and complete assigned tasks with minimal management follow up. 
  • Strong risk management and control mindset
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree
  • Appropriate industry knowledge & delivery track record is essential.
