Our team provides onsite Infrastructure Operations and Engineering support services for our Network, Firewall, Voice, Compute, and Storage teams. We are involving in day to day network operations and projects at Acute Care facilities, Urgent Cares, Health Centers and Corporate sites.

The typical schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 8a-5p with an on-call rotation. The IT System Engineer is responsible for the onsite MDF/IDF centers at each site. Daily tasks will involve working with Network Operations and Engineering as the onsite support. Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of items like servers, storage, network hardware and network cabling are a examples items that will be supported. POSITION SUMMARY
This position demonstrates technical knowledge of infrastructure and communications processes and supports system defined objectives relative to the company’s business and healthcare requirements. Interacts as part of a team to plan, design, implement and support Information Technology infrastructure, networks, hardware and applications.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Business Outcomes: Relentless focus on delivering outcomes and value to our business. Identifies, investigates, tracks, and resolves project, system or application errors ensuring the resolution is timely with a high degree of accuracy and quality. Participates in the designs of end user training and curriculum for applications and systems. Participates in the initial rollout and ongoing support of the user community. Evaluates the existing systems and provides technical direction for basic troubleshooting to IT support staff.  Seeks information for business functions at a high level to understand the impact of technical solutions on functional aspects of the business.

2. Technology Standards: Monitor all installed systems and infrastructure in line with company guidelines or SOP (Standard Operating Procedure). Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability; liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution. Provide notification for service interruptions to impacted end users. Configures and tests operating systems, application software, and system management tools.  Coordinates change management documentation and ensures that approvals are managed according to departmental procedures and ITIL standards. Produces technical input for designs to complex processes for presentation to senior members of the team.  Responsible to create technical documents to include process maps, Business Requirement Documents, system diagrams, application maps, test plans, work instructions, etc. Stores documents in central location for broader IT access. Develops and consistently updates fully integrated testing scenarios. Provides information to be incorporated as part of the comprehensive functional and integration testing plans. 


3. Innovation and Futures: Analyzes and reports on customer needs. Manages and supports the identification and research of new developments and uses of current systems and applications, as well as upgraded systems and applications. Provides technical information regarding current and future industry concepts, hardware, and software. Offers ideas for improving work and team processes. Experiments with new approaches.  


4. Advisor and Partner: Provides information for staff and various committees assisting with design, implementation and maintenance of application and system specifications and processes. Participates in task forces to plan, implement, and coordinate facility activities to maximize information technology service quality, effectiveness and efficiency; acts as a liaison, proactively garnering input from clinical customers and translating that input into specific functional requirements to be implemented. Maintains current professional and technical knowledge related to the healthcare industry by attending educational workshops/conferences, establishing personal networks, and/or maintaining relevant certification or licensure as business needs require. Seeks out and takes on responsibilities and assignments. Identifies opportunities or problems and acts quickly and decisively to respond to the situation.


5.  Communication: Effectively communicates ideas, opinions, questions or concerns. Understands and articulately answers questions. Seeks feedback on own verbal and non-verbal style and effectiveness. Practices attentive and active listening skills and follows through on commitments; keeps customers up to date on progress of all pending tasks.

 
6. Measurements: Ensures Key Performance Indicators are supported and tracked in all levels of work effort. Clearly defines success and implements the measurements to understand when success is achieved.

7.  Strategic/Leadership: Supports change initiatives by following new directions, as directed and providing appropriate information. Asks for feedback and ideas on how to do a better job and tries new approaches. Evaluations and recommends changes to improve user engagement and provide value. Voluntarily takes the first steps to identify and address existing and potential obstacles, issues, and opportunities. Maintains and applies up-to-date knowledge of discrete and integrated information systems elements (hardware, software, and network).   

8.  Customer Service: Puts the needs of the customer and team at the center of decision making. Consistently displays awareness and sensitivity to the needs of internal and/or external customers. Proactively ensures these needs are met or exceeded. Follows through on customer requests, needs, inquiries and concerns. Promptly addresses customer in a non-defensive manner. Keeps business partners up to date on progress of initiatives.

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, applicable professional standards, ITSM and ITIL standards.

9. This position has responsibility for selected infrastructure applications or systems. Work is performed in a fast paced multi-tasked environment where there may be conflicting priorities or tight deadlines. The incumbent has minor level decision-making authority for projects, coding, and applications and works at peer level. The incumbent participates in meetings, presentations, visioning sessions, planning sessions, implementation activities, and supports functions system wide.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess either an associate/vocational degree in related field, zero to two years of experience or equivalent combination of relevant education, technical, business and healthcare experience.

Requires communication, and presentation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Requires ability to communicate, and interact across facilities and at various levels.

As is typical in this industry, variable shifts and hours and carrying/responding to a pager may be required.
