The Global Process Engineering Authority (GPEA) partners with the Global Process Engineering Leader (GPEL) to develop, deploy, and sustain global manufacturing standards that improve equipment reliability, availability, performance, and total cost for generator rotating component manufacturing.
This role is accountable for driving equipment and process standardization across GE Vernova’s global manufacturing footprint, enabling consistent execution and predictable outcomes. The GPEA analyzes operational and reliability data to identify risk, implement proactive improvement actions, and drive continuous improvement in generator manufacturing processes.
The GPEA serves as a focal point for new technology introduction, asset transfers, and new process deployment. This includes defining lead‑time strategies, recommending equipment and technology selections, and establishing requirements for fixturing, control plans, qualification, and industrialization of manufacturing assets.
The position provides technical leadership to a global, dotted‑line network of factory technical leads across the supply chain. Success in this role requires strong analytical capability, deep manufacturing and equipment expertise, and disciplined application of Lean principles—particularly the “One Product, One Process” philosophy—to deliver sustainable improvements aligned with business and functional objectives.
The GPEA plays a critical role in the Generator Value Stream by building technical capability, strengthening manufacturing standards, and supporting a culture of inclusion, respect, and continuous improvement.
Define, control, and communicate global standards for manufacturing assets, including:
Ensure adherence to global equipment and process standards across sites.
Develop and deploy equipment reliability improvement strategies using industry best practices, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Establish, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment reliability, availability, and performance; drive corrective actions to close gaps to targets.
Lead investigations into equipment failures and chronic issues, ensuring robust root cause identification and sustainable corrective actions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing equipment downtime, improving process capability, and improving quality outcomes.
Validate design specifications and shop‑floor application of new processes in collaboration with:
Partner with maintenance, operations, engineering, and safety teams to design and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Provide technical leadership for asset management, including equipment lifecycle analysis and spare parts optimization.
Support the design, installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment, ensuring Design for Reliability principles are embedded from concept through launch.
Serve as the technical authority for new technology introduction, asset transfers, and process industrialization across the Generator Value Stream.
Apply specialized functional expertise to influence strategy, resource prioritization, and policy development within the Generator Value Stream.
Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, and services.
Stay current on relevant manufacturing, reliability, and industrial technology trends that may inform future strategy.
Exercise sound judgment in complex operational and technical decisions, synthesizing information from multiple internal and external sources to develop clear recommendations.
Lead functional projects or small teams, clearly communicating complex concepts and influencing stakeholders toward improved outcomes.
Co‑lead deployment of manufacturing systems supporting Next Generation Supply Chain (NGSC) migration across the global Generator Value Stream.
Apply Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology, including:
Deploy Lean manufacturing principles, including:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 10 years of industrial experience in manufacturing or quality
OR
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 15 years of experience in manufacturing asset reliability and maintenance.
Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals and quality systems.
Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and schematics.
Demonstrated project management experience.
Experience managing a cost center or P&L with a strong understanding of operational metrics.
Direct leadership experience with both professional and production employees.
Demonstrated ability to coach, influence, and lead small teams in a matrixed organization.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven interpersonal effectiveness and leadership presence.
Ability to lead initiatives of moderate scope and business impact.
Strong multitasking and project coordination skills.
Effective problem identification and solution development capability.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
