Summary:

In this role, you will provide strategic direction to our provider’s medical/surgical category for clinical contracting and sourcing. You will manage and facilitate all sourcing events from RFP processes to contracting.  You will also drive system enhancements; proactively recognizing and delivering on new or improved reporting needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify cost-savings opportunities and a formal work plan for the medical/surgical category.
  • Partner with Vizient GPO to drive contract compliance, tier optimization, and administrative fees.
  • Conduct the entire RFP process through evaluations, vendor demonstrations/product evaluations and vendor service level assessments.
  • Build and foster ongoing professional relationships with C-suite, clinical leaders and other client executives.
  • Facilitate and lead sourcing initiatives in conjunction with provider’s clinical value analysis teams.
  • Present savings opportunities to nursing leadership.
  • Conduct business reviews with key suppliers following internal audit requirements.
  • Partner with clients to ensure contracts are in compliance with provider expectations.

Qualifications: 

  • Relevant degree preferred. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • 7 or more years of relevant experience in healthcare and/or health care operations required.
  • Medical/surgical experience required.
  • Understanding of project management concepts needed.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with an ability to lead enterprise-wide projects needed.
  • Excellent business and financial insight with the ability to quantify challenges and suggest alternative actions desired.
  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $117,600.00 to $194,200.00.
