We are seeking a Senior Systems Integration Engineer to work across autonomy, digital platforms, machine engineering, manufacturing, and service organizations to ensure subsystems operate together as one coherent, robust solution that meets Caterpillar standards for quality, reliability, and customer trust.

What you will do:

The role is accountable for end‑to‑end technical ownership of system connectivity, data flows, and validation strategies supporting enterprise machine readiness capabilities This role defines how machine data is generated, connected, validated, and consumed to ensure machines are ready to work (“dirt‑ready”) while also driving architectural and process changes required to enable future autonomy, automation, and digital capabilities The role serves as a technical authority for system health, quality, and integration robustness, with responsibility for identifying risks, driving corrective actions, and influencing enterprise roadmaps to improve scalability and resilience.

  • Own end‑to‑end system integration for a machine readiness capability across embedded systems, edge environments, and enterprise platforms.
  • Establish and govern technical expectations for system connectivity, data completeness, and readiness determination.
  • Ensure alignment of subsystem behaviors to deliver a consistent, predictable system outcome across products and regions.
  • Ensure machines reliably report the data required to assess readiness, enablement, and configuration correctness.
  • Lead end‑to‑end system validation from an enterprise perspective, ensuring all subsystems function together as intended.
  • Serve as a technical sign‑off authority for system readiness and integration quality
  • Provide senior engineering leadership to determine required changes to onboard architecture and back‑office systems needed to support current and future capabilities.
  • Lead improvements in underlying systems, interfaces, and data pipelines to increase resilience and capability maturity.
  • Provide technical expertise in a large, global, matrixed organization.
  • Communicate complex system behavior clearly to engineering teams, product leaders, and executives.

Skill Descriptors

  • Influencing Through Expertise: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
  • Software Product Design/Architecture: Knowledge of software product design; ability to convert market requirements into the software product design.

Considerations for Top Candidates
