Job Summary

The Manager, 3Q6S (Continuous Improvement Lead) is responsible for leading continuous improvement and productivity gains while driving operational excellence across the manufacturing floor. This role bridges the gap between introduction of new products and efficient execution, ensuring that all products are being produced using the most cost-effective and Lean methodologies.

Job Description

Role Overview
The Manager, 3Q6S owns day‑to‑day leadership of the management system across one or more sites, departments, or value streams. The role focuses on execution, capability building, and sustainability, translating enterprise CI direction into practical routines and measurable results.
This role has direct people leadership responsibility and is accountable for local performance metrics, CI maturity, and leadership behaviors tied to the 3Q6S system.

Continuous Improvement & Lean Leadership:


  • Identify process improvement opportunities across the organization, using data analysis and stakeholder input.
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives, including process reengineering, automation, and standardization.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that process improvements are aligned with business goals and objectives.
  • Create and maintain documentation of updated processes, procedures, and work instructions to drive process standardization and improve efficiency.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with new or changed processes and ensure that appropriate controls are in place.
  • Establish metrics to track and report on process performance and ensure that data is collected and analyzed to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior management to prioritize process improvement initiatives and develop business cases to justify investments in new technologies or process improvements.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders to ensure that they are aware of process changes and provide training and support to facilitate successful adoption of new processes.
  • Strategy Implementation: Deploy a site-wide Continuous Improvement strategy using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles.
  • Value Stream Mapping (VSM): Analyze workflows to identify bottlenecks, eliminate waste, and reduce lead times.
  • Data-Driven Optimization: Monitor and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), Scrap Rates, and Labor Efficiency.
  • Problem Solving: Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to solve complex manufacturing issues.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field required (Master's preferred)
Lean / Continuous Improvement certifications (Lean Leader, Six Sigma Black Belt) strongly preferred
Typically 7–12 years of experience in operations, continuous improvement, manufacturing, or process leadership roles
Demonstrated experience leading teams and deploying operating systems at site or functional level

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong working knowledge of Lean, CI, and daily management systems
Proven ability to lead people and drive behavioral change
Strong problem‑solving, coaching, and facilitation skills
Ability to influence operational leaders and frontline teams
Data‑driven mindset with focus on sustainability of results
High accountability, credibility, and operational judgment
