Summary of Job Duties:

Come join our dynamic outpatient therapy, community fitness and sports medicine family! Candidates should have a passion for neurodegenerative and orthopaedic patient populations to work alongside PT's in the Reynolds Institute on Aging on the UAMS Campus.

The outpatient physical therapist provides an individualized evaluation, during which the client, family/caregiver, and physical therapist determine the patient's goals, customize interventions to optimize the person's ability to perform functional activities, and continuously assess progress towards goals to ensure goals are being met and/or to modify the intervention plan based on the patient's needs and skills. Functional outcomes data is completed through collection of best practice data via patient questionnaires, performance measures, and documented treatment interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Provides evidence based quality patient treatments established by the Physical Therapist and monitors patient for physiological status during sessions. Provides individualized patient education.

• Prepares and operates physical therapy equipment, including sanitizing, sterilizing and/or disinfecting equipment.

• Documents treatment sessions/education sessions and submits accurate charges according to regulatory policies.

• Consults with the physical therapist on status changes for patients, revisions of goals, and/or recommendations for change in treatment plan.

• Provides education regarding physical therapy discipline, including serving as a clinical instructor and/or providing education to other disciplines within UAMS and/or the community.

• Participates in multidisciplinary and department communication, including patient care discussions and/or meetings and unit/department/hospital meetings.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
