About the Role

Our Retention Data Science Team is seeking a Data Scientist to help develop and maintain machine learning models that predict customer health. We are a small, collaborative team dedicated to continuous improvement through open technical feedback. We ensure that our production pipelines run smoothly, allowing us to effectively support our customer retention initiatives with robust predictive models. 

Your Day to Day
As a Data Scientist, you would be working on:

• Build machine learning models on internal data to address business issues and improve KPIs like retention. 

• Deploy models and continuously maintain and enhance production pipelines to facilitate their use by internal stakeholders. 

• Partner with our Marketing, Customer Success, Sales, and Product Teams to drive customer retention. 

• Present technical findings to non-technical audiences and translate complex quantitative data into succinct actionable insights 

• Work with members of multiple departments to understand processes, data and reporting requirements 

What We’re Looking For
As a Data Scientist, your background will look like:

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a quantitative field - Statistics, Computer Science, Math, Physics etc. 

• At least 2 years of experience in an analytical and/or data science role within a business environment, or a similar duration of experience from a PhD research program. 

• Versed in the fundamentals of statistics, with a working understanding of machine learning algorithms and their applications 

• Experience in SQL, Python, and PySpark strongly preferred. 

• Experience working in Big Data and Cloud systems (e.g. AWS, Databricks, S3, EMR, Hive, Presto) strongly preferred. 

• Experience using collaborative tools like Git for version control and code management 

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical audiences. 

• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity with a desire to learn and grow, including seeking and valuing technical feedback on your work.
